JOB DESCRIPTION

Council’s Parks & Strategic Operations Division is seeking experienced individuals familiar with tractor/mower operations that enjoy working outdoors and are looking for an active and hands on role.

  • Remuneration package of $2,004.68 gpf with the opportunity to progress to $2,405.62 gpf + superannuation;
  • Access to Council’s nine (9) day fortnight arrangement;

Your new role:
The position is responsible for delivering a high level of presentation for the City’s parks, gardens, reserves, sportsgrounds, streetscapes and roadsides.

Duties of the role will include but not limit to:

  • Operate and maintain Council plant and equipment with an emphasis on tractor and mower operations;
  • Undertake gardening duties including establishment and maintenance of gardens and lawns, planting, pruning, mowing, tree maintenance, whipper snipping, weeding, irrigation, soil and sediment control, rehabilitation works, chemical application, pest/disease control, maintenance of facilities, rubbish removal, traffic/pedestrian management, fencing, concreting, paving and site safety and security; and
  • Complete documentation relevant to the role including standard forms, run sheets, payroll system, and site safety documentation.

What you will need to succeed:

  • Previous experience in tractor and mower operations is highly desirable;
  • Current Class C Driver’s Licence (MR Licence is desirable);
  • Current WH&S Construction Induction Certificate (White);
  • Be a team player, motivated and willing to learn new skills; and
  • Have strong communication skills in order to respond to customer requests.
