About the role:

CSL Australia are currently seeking expressions of interest from qualified Electro-Technical Officers/Electrical Engineers/Electrical Officers for immediate and ongoing positions onboard various vessels within our Australian fleet.

At CSL Australia, our Electro-Technical Officers are responsible for the maintenance of the vessels electrical and electronic equipment by providing assistance to the Chief Engineer for specific electrical cargo equipment. The ideal candidate will have the ability to perform tasks in an orderly way, work as part of a team and comfortably understand and follow instructions from others.

Key Responsibilities:

The Electrical Engineer is responsible to the Chief Engineer for:

  • Maintaining the vessel's electrical and electronic equipment
  • Adopting safe working practices
  • UMS test schedules, alarm test etc
  • Assisting during maintenance as required over and above electrical equipment maintenance
  • First level maintenance of communications, radio and navigation equipment
  • Providing support for safe and efficient running of electrical equipment during cargo operations

Qualifications:

For Australian Certificate of Competency Holders:

  • Hold an Electro-Technical officer qualification or
  • Hold a Class A Electrician Licence including 5 years work experience in an industrial electrical environment

For international Certificate of Competency Holders:

  • Hold or be capable of holding an Electro-Technical Officer qualification in the country of CoC issue, or
  • Hold a Marine Electrician, Master Electrician or Electrical Engineer qualification in the country of CoC issue
