Your new company
Our client is an International supplier in the growing Australian Defence industry. Following continuous project wins and future growth plans, they are now seeking to expand their team in Melbourne with a Lead Ordnance Technician.

Your new role
You will be joining a forward-thinking team and report directly into the Program Manager. You will play an integral part in the success and growth of this growing organisation and support the broader capability of the business. You will be responsible to lead the installation, commissioning, maintenance, supply support and training of various ordnance products.

You will have ownership of this division going through an exciting phase of growth and will manage relationships with key stakeholders including Prime contractors, Senior leadership team and the end client. You will be coordinating and supervising multiple smaller projects that will support the overall major project. Key responsibilities include:

  • Act as lead point of contact for all ordnance installation and warranty service provisions
  • Lead the onboard installation, commissioning, customer testing, warranty investigations and repair work
  • Monitor installation standards and assure integrity, safety and compliance of delivered technical solutions
  • Manage the necessary tools, spares and inventory across Australia needed for onboard activities.

What you'll need to succeed
To be successful in this role, you will require the following:

  • Strong communication skills
  • Extensive experience working with medium-to-large calibre ordnance
  • Ability to read and interpret manufactured drawings, material equipment's lists and or specifications.
  • Ship building knowledge or related experience in a maritime production of manufacturing environment.
  • Good knowledge or experience in the use of SAP or similar systems.
  • Currently hold or be eligible to obtain an Australian Defence Security Clearance
