Full Time Positions Vacant – Various Trades

Inter-Steel Pty Ltd are the leading supplier of processed steel plate in the market which includes Miners, Mining Service Organisations, Steel Fabricators and Engineers throughout Western Australia.
We are seeking suitably qualified and experienced tradespersons and technicians on a full-time basis for our operations at Canning Vale, WA.

Full Time - Metal Machinists
Reporting to the Workshop Manager, our Metal Machinists are responsible for:

• Operating CNC profile cutting machine
• Creating or inputting NC codes for the machine for the Jobs to cut/requirement
• Reading work drawings and specifications
• Checking against work order, material grade, thickness, size and locations 
• Determining material required and loading machine program
• Transporting steel plate from stock and loading onto machine bed
• Unloading scrap plate from machine beds
• Cutting scrap metal, cleaning and dressing finished products
• Transporting profile cut plate items to clean up area
• Marking out components and stacking for despatch
• Cleaning dross from plate items and count and stack onto pallet
• Transporting pallet of items to despatch area
• Periodically cleaning machine beds and cleaning-up workshop area

To be considered for this role it is essential to have the following skills and experience:

• Certificate III in Engineering (Mechanical Trade) or equivalent
• A minimum of 3 - 5 years’ relevant employment experience as a machinist
• Experience in using and/or programming manual, semi-automated or automated tools and machines (lathes, milling, oxy, plasma, grinders etc.)
• Knowledge of the properties of metal and other material
• Ability to read blueprints, schematics and manuals
• Physical stamina and strength to lift heavy items
• With Forklift and overhead gantry crane ticket is advantage


Full Time – Metal Fabricators
Reporting to the Workshop Manager, our Metal Fabricators are responsible for:

• Reading and interpreting engineering blueprints
• Constructing base templates if necessary
• Measuring and marking out cutting and bending lines
• Setting up metalwork machinery including rollers, drill presses, flame cutters, brakes, and shears Double-checking design specifications before commencing with cutting work Fabricating and constructing metal components
• Grinding and finishing completed products
• Performing quality checks on completed products
• Comply with all health & safety processes
• Completing job reports
To be considered for these roles, it is essential to have the following skills and experience:
• Certificate III in Engineering – Fabrication Trade
• A minimum of 3-5 years’ relevant work experience as a Metal Fabricator or Welder
• Advance knowledge of industrial metalwork
• Advanced knowledge of engineering design and manufacturing procedures.
• Ability to read and interpret engineering blueprints
• Proficiency with metal fabrication tools including shears, rollers, flame cutters, and drill presses Advanced mathematical and engineering skills
• Ability to lift and manipulate large metal object.
• Ability to stand for long periods
• Physical stamina and strength to lift heavy items
• Able to pass Drug & Alcohol and Medical Screening
• Forklift and overhead gantry crane ticket an advantage. 


Full Time - Electrical Engineering Technician

Reporting to the Workshop Manager, our Electrical Engineering Technicians are responsible for:

• Electrical workshop functions for the installation, testing ,repair and maintenance of workshop machines, assemblies and related equipment
• Interpretation and review of drawings for electrical installation
• Electrical inspection for compliance with specifications
• QA/QC for audit and inspection
• Cost estimation of materials and coordinate with electrical suppliers and contractors

To be considered for this role it is essential to have the following skills and experience:

• Relevant AQF Diploma level or higher qualification or equivalent
• Minimum of 3 - 5 years’ relevant employment experience as an electrical engineering technician 
• Knowledge and experience either in a manufacturing or resources environment
• Strong ability to read and interpret electrical circuit diagrams and symbols
• Must be able to work under pressure with minimum supervision
• Must have a team oriented attitude working as part of a team 

Estimated base salary earnings of $55,000 to $65,000 per annum plus superannuation Applications open from Monday, 01 June 2021 to Friday, 25 June 2021.
