About the role

We have an opportunity for a Groom to be part of our Dog & Mounted Command team. The role is to support the Mounted Police Command in the daily care of horses and maintenance of the stable complex. The position also supports the Mounted Police Officers in preparing for Ceremonial, Public Order and High Visibility Patrols

Essential requirements

  • Obtain and maintain the requisite security clearance for this role.
  • Hold a current NSW driver’s licence.
  • High level of physical fitness to carry out manual labour associated with stable duties, handle and control large horses.
  • High level of horse handling and stable management skills.
  • Forklift licence or willingness to obtain within 6 months.

Prior to commencement, the successful candidate will be required to undergo a rigorous National Police (criminal history) Check and obtain and maintain a Security Clearance as determined by the NSW Police Force.

This recruitment may be used to create a Talent Pool for similar future roles (ongoing or temporary) that may arise over the next 18 months.
