  • Permanent contract
  • Salary: Level 7 to 8, $76,602 - $80,333 per annum + 9.5% superannuation
  • Based at 280 Morphett Road North Plympton SA


What you'll do

As our Workgroup Leader Arboriculture within our City Operations' Team, you'll have the chance to establish important connections with our diverse community, visitors and contractors. You will be responsible for providing high level leadership to our Arboriculture team in a role that is focused on quality service.


In this role you will undertake a variety of duties including:

  • Co-ordinating, scheduling and supervising the Arboriculture Team and external contractors to ensure resources are used effectively and efficiently to complete scheduled daily activities within budget and the specified standard.
  • Assessing the pruning and removal requirements of trees to provide high quality arboriculture maintenance in accordance with Australia standards.
  • Undertaking operational duties in the City Operations' arboriculture and horticulture areas
  • Applying developed arboriculture and horticulture technical and operational skills in developing and maintaining parks and gardens, active and passive reserves, landscapes, open spaces and street trees.
  • Ensuring efficient, safe and effective operation of plant and equipment used in arboriculture and horticulture maintenance operations.


As this role is service-focussed, you will promote a positive and professional image of CWT by providing friendly and professional service in a courteous and prompt manner.


Who you are

If you're dependable and motivated with the ability to encourage and support an industrious, harmonious and team-oriented work group, you'd be a great addition to our City Operations' team. 


As you will be providing leadership to your team, it's important that you have excellent interpersonal and time management skills and an ability to prioritise tasks across a range of areas. You'll also need the ability to manage and train staff, apprentices, trainees and casual staff to develop work skills and increase efficiency.


As a minimum, you must have a current Class MR driver's licence and a Certificate III trade qualification in Arboriculture / Horticulture. You will also require a Work Zone Traffic Management certificate, Elevated Work Platform certificate and qualifications and/or competencies with standard arboriculture/horticulture plant equipment.
