About the Role:
Based in the Illawarra, and working within our longstanding BlueScope Plant Maintenance Contract, an opportunity exists for a qualified and experienced Mechanical Fitter to join Ventia and the Coke Plant 2 team as the Leading Hand.
In this role you will lead our Clients integrated core team, performing technical and maintenance work on projects, shutdowns and day-to-day maintenance service requests, whilst achieving safety, quality, critical equipment uptime and operational efficiency objectives.

To be successful in this role the following qualification, licences, skills and experience is required:

  • Demonstrated commitment to Health, Safety, Environmental and Quality standards.
  • Certificate III in Engineering – Mechanical Trade Qualification.
  • Relevant heavy industry experience.
  • Hydraulics experience (ideally this experience will be underpinned by formal training such as Fluid Power 1 and 2).
  • OHS General Construction Induction Card (White Card).
  • NSW Drivers Licence.

Skills:

  • The ability to develop and maintain good working relationships.
  • Action oriented and results driven, coupled with a strong customer focus.
  • Pride in your standard of work with a passion for identifying and implementing improvement opportunities.
  • Fault finding and problem-solving skills; driven by solution-focussed outcomes.
  • Effective organisational and time management skills.
  • An effective communicator, both face to face and in writing.
  • Computer literacy (MS windows, office, outlook).
