JOB DESCRIPTION

Joining a Government Department based in Cloncurry, North Queensland, you will be working alongside an experienced and technically-skilled team to construct, maintain and repair infrastructure throughout Far North Queensland.

Delivering projects for both State and Local Governments, this is a diverse and stimulating role that will immerse you into the world of Civil Construction and strengthen your skills working in a fast-paced and team driven environment. With a focus on meeting the needs of the community, and building a sustainable future, this is a unique entry-level opportunity to create a career in Civil Construction.

About the Role:

  • Full-time position, 38 hours per week
  • 3 Year Traineeship, working towards a Certificate III in Civil Construction
  • Assist in the delivery on new infrastructure projects across Far North Queensland
  • Operate hand tools, power tools and machinery such as rollers and purpose built loaders
  • Maintain and repair existing infrastructure in the local area
  • Contribute to a safe and healthy workplace by complying with Workplace Health and Safety legislation, policies and procedures

About You:

  • Strong communication skills
  • Mechanically minded, or strong problem solving skills
  • Enjoy working in a physical and challenging environment
  • Open to flexible working arrangements, including travel
  • Hold a valid Qld drivers licence
