JOB DESCRIPTION

Elevatorworx is an installation and removal specialist. Operating in Sydney and Brisbane, contracting to the major lift companies for the past decade.

We are looking for an experienced Lift mechanical installer to join our growing Sydney team.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILTIES

  • To be able to read layout drawings old and new.
  • Mechanically install all lift components as per design specifications on an array of products.
  • Experience in removing existing elevators (OH traction, Hydraulic, MRL).
  • Understand and follow safe removal process’ and requirements.
  • To be able to recognise errors in builder’s design of lift shaft.
  • Have a good clear understanding of elevator safety.
  • To be able to supervise multiple lift projects.
  • Liaise with lift company project manager and provide updates.
  • Have a clear understanding of hours allocation and financial constraints.
  • Have ability to set out lift shafts (plumb) for installation.
  • Have ability to follow installation manuals.
  • Have restricted electrical knowledge to advise external electrical contractors.
  • Have sufficient knowledge to advise finishing trades on lobby details.
  • Be prepared to undertake any addition training to enhance skill and safety awareness.
  • High level of skill in the erection of all elevator shaft steel work, high rise and low rise.
  • High level of installation process to be able to co-ordinate site deliveries and material placement.
  • Clear understanding of importance of car and counterweight balance when removing and elevator.
  • Carry out site specific risk assessment and daily JHA in all areas of the work.
  • Always represent the company in professional manner
  • Have knowledge to carry out handover of completed elevator to consultant and or end user.

REQUIREMENTS

  • Minimum 2 years installation experience
  • Certificate III or work experience in lieu of qualifications
  • High Risk Licence DG, RB
  • WAH licence
  • Strong technical skills
  • Good communication skills
  • Achieved some form of Elevator qualification
  • Supervisory skills advantageous
  • Clear understanding of OH & S regulations
  • Ability to work in a team environment
  • Ability to cross reference layout drawings
