As a ground instructor, you are required to ensure training, regulatory and compliance needs are consistently met along with delivering a high standard training model for our Cabin Crew, aligning with JetStars’ ever-changing requirement. This role will be responsible for the development and deliverance of Aircrew Safety and Emergency procedures, Dangerous Goods, First Aid, Cabin Service, and secondary skills training programs, both practical and theoretical components. Also, Instructors are responsible for ensuring course materials are compliant with company procedures and relevant legislation.

As a Ground Instructor, you will be responsible for the below:

  • Develop and deliver ground training course materials as directed by the Ground Training Manager; ensuring training syllabus and checklists are followed correctly
  • Ensuring that crew standards are maintained to the highest level in accordance with the requirements of the company operations manual; providing mentoring and coaching to crew where needed
  • Ensuring all relevant CASA statutory requirements related to aircrew training and checking, are adhered to
  • Conduct Cabin Crew performance appraisals
  • Maintain currency and knowledge of all aspects of Emergency Procedures, Cabin Services and Company Policy and Procedures
  • Maintain regulatory knowledge of topics that impact cabin and flight crew ground training
  • Monitor personal qualification and ensure currency is maintained at all times
  • Participate in company projects and audits as directed by the Ground Training Manager
  • Actively contribute to the standardisation of the Ground Training team by sustaining personal development opportunities and evaluation of individual performance
  • Ensure course materials, including training equipment, are compliant with company procedures and relevant legislation
  • Comply with company occupational health and safety standards to ensure a safe workplace
  • Always demonstrate exemplary role model behaviour and respect for organization goals and requirements by maintaining a high standard of professionalism and personal integrity
To be considered for the position, you will need to have the below skills and experience:
  • Previous experience as a 20.11 Approved Instructor (essential)
  • Minimum 12 months, recent experience, as cabin crew
  • Ability to achieve a Regulatory Approval in order to conduct emergency procedures training and assessment
  • Proven experience in computer-based training (CBT), facilitation, classroom training for adults and working knowledge of adult learning principles preferred
  • Ability to manage a busy workload, diverse portfolios, conflict resolution and relationship building with other departments
  • Excellent computer and administrative skills
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to effectively communicate with staff at all levels
  • Proven ability to work in a team
  • Ability to work on a rotating shift roster
  • Ability to travel as required
  • Physically fit and a capable swimmer
