About You

Have you recently completed an apprenticeship in plumbing and enjoy educating others on all matters related to plumbing?

Ideally you will be a qualified plumber who has well developed communication, computer skills and is eager learn and develop with the ultimate goal of ensuring the drinking water supply and sewer network remain safe.

About The Role

As a Field Officer you will be part of our Service Protection team. Your primary responsibility is to plan, schedule and perform a variety of field and office-based activities related to backflow prevention and trade waste ensuring our customers understand and comply with the Corporation’s policies and standards.

What The Role Will Involve
  • Plan and undertake field activities and/or inspections associated with backflow prevention and trade waste programs or initiatives.
  • Manage ongoing customer compliance requirements directly related to backflow prevention and trade waste
  • Investigate and report on potential backflow and trade waste matters.
  • Ensure backflow installations comply with corporate policy and standards and ensure all relevant records are accurately maintained.
  • Play a key role in educating the industry on Water Corporation’s backflow and trade waste requirements
  • Provide support and advice to internal and external customers on technical plumbing and legislative aspects of trade waste and backflow prevention management.

Key Skills And Experience
  • Experience as a qualified plumber with experience directly related to backflow prevention
  • Demonstrated ability to follow documented processes.
  • Have well rounded technical, problem solving and analytical skills (such as interpreting hydraulic/architectural plans, trade waste and backflow prevention risk assessments)
  • Have well developed computer literacy and demonstrated experience in Microsoft Office and a demonstrated ability to quickly learn new software and programs
  • Have a high level of competency with the use of mobile technology for managing and recording information, scheduling and completing work in the field.
  • Have excellent written and communications skills.
  • Have a demonstrated history of excellent customer service
  • Commitment to efficient and effective work planning and scheduling and working in a structured and process-based environment.

Operations Performance
