About the Business

Eastern Motorcycles specializes in motorcycles and scooter under three service categories: sales of new and used motorcycle and scooter, sales of accessories and parts and mechanical repairs.

We are a licensed Motor Dealer and are in the process of expanding range in our new motorcycles/scooters sales. We are currently in the process of extending our product range in accessories and our webpage will be updated soon as we will start selling direct as well as wholesale.

Our mechanical services bring you years of experience and knowledge to work on your scooter and motorcycle with fully licenced and certified mechanics. We also provide restoration for vintage motorcycles and other repairs and installations from our workshop.

We deal with all kind of scooters and motorcycles with electrical issues, complete wiring for especially motorcycle restoration projects, mechanical issues, ecu remapping, tyre service, pre purchase inspections... the list goes on, basically we are all about motorcycles.

About the Role

As a result of our continued operations and expansion plans, we seek the support of an experienced Motorcycle Mechanic to join our team in Mascot NSW 2020.

This position is full-time, working 38 hours a week (guaranteed), plus reasonable additional hours.

Salary: $50,000 to $60,000 per annum (plus super)

Main Tasks:

Amidst other key duties, the person filling this position will be required to autonomously and effectively repair, maintain and test motorcycles and associated parts, including: engines and other related mechanical components.

In doing so, such person will also be required to:

  • Detect and diagnose mechanical faults in engines and other motorcycle parts;
  • Dismantle and remove mechanical and engine assemblies, transmissions, steering mechanisms and other components to check, test and repair individual parts and systems;
  • Repair and replace worn and/or defective components; and
  • Reassemble mechanical components.

Other related tasks may also apply.

Hiring Criteria

In order to be successful, an applicant must:

  • Possess a Certificate III level qualification plus 2 years’ work experience, OR a Certificate IV level qualification in case of no work experience, OR 3 years’ work experience in case of no formal qualification.
  • Be honest, motivated, reliable and responsible;
  • Be willing and able to commit to permanent, ongoing employment in the long-term;
  • Be able to work autonomously and under pressure; and
  • Possess sound mechanical skills and extensive knowledge of motorcycle mechanics.

Important: Australian citizens and/or permanent residents will be given priority over those with work permission restrictions because of visa and other impediments.
