Queensland Rail's Rollingstock Maintenance division are currently seeking an electrical trade professional to help ensure we meet peak availability and provide safe reliable trains. As an Electrical City Network Rollingstock Maintainer II you are responsible for carrying out safety critical maintenance on Citytrain vehicles including brake testing and maintenance of the CCTV security system as well as repairs to the safety critical electronic control systems on the trains. Also fault detection repairs and carry out electronic, computer and Programmed Logic Controller (PLC) related repairs.

This fantastic opportunity will have you working for the biggest name in rail in Queensland offering role security very few other companies can offer here in a capital city. The 24 hour roster required will provides excellent penalty opportunities to go with the already competitive base salary. In addition to a generous superannuation scheme, Queensland Rail also offers free train travel to and from work on duty days and a healthy work/ life balance.

The pay rate allocated at base rate is approximately $58k plus superannuation, shift and other allowances. If successful as an employee additional competencies will be reviewed once employed and through employment with the current top rate being just over $71k plus superannuation, shift and other allowance.

Hours are a 4 day week (38 hour week, 9.5 hour days). Shifts will vary from day shift (6:00– 3:30pm, 9:30am – 7:00pm) and afternoon shift 3:00pm – 12:30pm, 6:30pm – 4:00am) rosters will vary. In addition the position will be required to work overtime as required from time to time to meet business needs.

The successful candidate will be required to possess an Electrical Mechanic Licence / Electrical Fitter and Mechanical Licence. Previous electrical experience with inspections (fault finding) and repair on rollingstock or light / heavy mechanical equipment will be highly desirable.
