We are looking to recruit a dedicated Groundsperson for two days a week to maintain the appearance and functional soundness of our school's grounds. The Groundsperson is responsible for maintaining groundskeeping equipment and materials, and for ensuring adequate stock levels of consumables. You will ensure the appearance of trees, shrubs, flowers and lawns, and keep the grounds free from weeds.

You need to use your multitasking abilities to meet the required maintenance standards for our grounds at all times. Preferred candidates are hard-working, detail-oriented and organised.


•Maintaining condition and appearance of lawns, grounds and sports courts.

•Laying out and marking handball areas.

•Mowing and maintaining lawns.

•Planting, trimming, mulching and fertilising flowers, shrubs and trees.

•Cleaning and painting benches, poles and signs.

•Keeping facilities and surrounding areas free from debris and weeds.

•Cleaning and maintaining groundskeeping equipment and materials.

•Following applicable safety guidelines and procedures.

•Performing other duties as required.


•Higher School Certificate or suitable equivalent, or work experience in a similar position.

•Proficient knowledge of maintaining lawns, fields and grounds.

•Proficient with operating groundskeeping equipment such as ride-on mowers and the ability to handle a range of horticultural machinery and powered hand tools..

•Friendly personality with excellent interpersonal skills.

•Solid understanding of health and safety rules and legislation.

•Ability to follow verbal and written instructions.

If you are successfully progressed to interview, you will be required to provide your proof of identity information and complete a CRIMTRAC declaration. As this is a child-related position, you will also be required to obtain a Working with Children Check (WWCC) Clearance number as a condition of employment (if you do not already have this).
