Join a large FMCG processing facility to provide your expertise, in the efficiency and operating of blow fill lines, in a permanent Maintenance Fitter Role.

Client Details

Our client is heading through a huge growth period and is hiring Maintenance Fitters to continue to meet these growing requirements of the business, by assisting in the significant maintenance of their 2 new production lines.

As a Permanent Maintenance Fitter, you will be required to ensure that production and targets are met, ensuring that assets are under your care and attention and are safe and reliable to use 24 hours a day.

You will be able to respond promptly to production line issues with your goal being to reduce downtime and ensure production continues through good engineering management.

As a Maintenance Fitter, you will be a subject matter expert in higher-order, more difficult problem solving that process technicians will pass over to you. You will have expert knowledge on continuous process improvements and plant capability.

Some of the duties involved in your role will include:-

60-70% specialised maintenance work
Providing effective preventative methods and programs, also teaching process technicians along the way around specific issues
Scheduled maintenance
Breakdown maintenance and also organising and execution of planned maintenance days and weeks
Ensuring packaging machines are set up correctly
Adhering to a lean manufacturing method
Health and safety that naturally comes with this type of technical role
Quality Control reporting
HACCP attention and reporting
SAP assistance

The facility closes down for 1 week a year in winter, to complete maintenance and so this will be a project you will work towards as the year moves.

This role will require working on a rotating 7 day, 12-hour shift day/night roster in a 4 day on, 3 days off scenario. Rosters will be provided to you in advance and you will only change around once a month. This roster type averages out to 36-38 hour working week and so is full time and a permanent role.


To be successfully considered for this maintenance fitter role you will:

  • Be a Citizen or Permanent Resident of Australia, or have a visa with working rights in a more permanent capacity
  • Hold a Trades Qualification or Certification
  • Hold 5-10+ years experience in a maintenance environment
  • Live within a 45 minute travel time to Ipswich,QLD
  • Must be able to work across all shifts day, afternoon, nights from Monday to Sunday on the rotating roster
  • Ability to pass a medical and health questionnaire to include, drug, alcohol testing and musculoskeletal, fitness testing
  • Excellent communication skills and relationship management
  • Have a strong knowledge of SAP applications
  • Be able to work across project work
  • Be a subject matter expert with specialist diagnostic skills
  • Be experienced in reliability management
