To operate Textile Weaving looms, to produce fabrics to an acceptable standard of productivity and quality.

Main duties:

• Checking that correct warp, weft and design card are available to produce fabrics according to written Weaving Instructions.
• Ensuring that weft yarns are placed in correct position
• Perform inherent manual handling tasks associated with weaving,
• Repair warp thread breaks by tying in appropriate thread,
• Quality checking of fabric
• Start, stop, adjust and restart looms
• check frequently when new A Frame is installed to ensure speed
• Record quantities of product produced
• Perform other duties within Weaving Department

Job Requirements:

• Ability to stand and walk around machines
• Physically fit

Qualifications & Experience required:

Experience operating Weaving looms in a continuous production environment in the Textile Industry. Knowledge of the structure of woven fabrics in terms of yarn types, woven fabric structure.
