Indigenous Trainees (2) – Environmental Services
The Illawarra Local Aboriginal Land Council is an innovative not for profit organisation that seeks to develop and expand opportunities for Aboriginal people, culture and heritage within the Illawarra region.
We are seeking 2 trainees to join our Environmental Services team. Our team conducts environmental services (bush regeneration, weed management, landscaping) for Councils, Government Agencies and private businesses.
The role involves:
- Work in the field as part of a team directed by a qualified supervisor
- Conduct weed control in natural areas using a variety of methods including, manual removal, mulching, brush cutting and the use of herbicide.
- Revegetation works including planting, mulching and plant maintenance
- Completing a Certificate 3 in Conservation and Land Management
Requirements:
- Aboriginal
- Current NSW driver’s licence
- Willing to undergo a Criminal History Check and a Working with Children Check
