Programmed Skilled Workforce is a leading provider of managed workforce and training services.
Our client is based in the Bankstown area and they are a leading manufacturer and supplier to the rail, rolling stock and rail infrastructure industries including locomotives and trains and rail track work.
About the role:
They have a role to start asap for a trade qualified Fitter Machinist with programming skills to operate CNC milling machines.
This is an ongoing casual role on day shift (38 hours per week) with the possibility of being offered permanent employment after a qualifying period as a casual (dependant on work performance and business requirements).
Hours of work:
Monday to Thursday: 6am-2.30pm
Friday: 6am- midday
About you:
Thorough knowledge of CNC controls (FANUC preferred)
Ability to write CNC programs (G codes and M Codes)
Must have strong technical skills and the ability to understand and interpret engineering drawings.
Also the ability to understand machining and assembly requirements (tolerances, clearances, mating surfa
ces etc)
Essential requirements:
Australian Fitter Machinist trade certificate
Attention to detail and delivering quality work
Team player
Must have work rights in Australia and be able to provide two recent contactable work references
Preferred:
Ability to operate overhead cranes
Forklift licence
Lean, 5S experience
Experience with jigs and fixtures design
Experience in the rail industry is an advantage but not essential
A Cat 3 rail medical including a drug and alcohol test is required before commencement.
